Chris,

I'm wondering how the Drobo would compare to the Intel SS4200-E.

Chuck Hollis writes about it here: http://chucksblog.typepad.com/chucks_blog/2008/03/my-personal-sto.html

It seems that it should make it easy to upgrade with more drives, but not as easy as drobo.

Chris,

I have a Drobo also and I love mine. Same experience as you, minus the BIOS issue. I have 3x500GB drives and 1x750GB. I will probably replacing one of the 500's soon with a 750 because I'm finally starting to run out of space. You will really appreciate how the Drobo does a RAID re-layout when you add a third drive and you can see you go from 50% RAID overheard to 33%. Very cool little box. I'll probably buy a Droboshare soon and I'm eager to see what their next product will be? 8 Drive Drobo? eSATA? WIFI?

PS, any idea what the DroboOS is? I suspect Linux but can't find any evidence of this.

-Chip
http://blog.paswater.com
